The Greenwich Trio has been described by legendary cellist Bernard Greenhouse as the new “Beaux Arts Trio”.

 

 

These three gifted musicians joined forces in August 2006, and since the very beginning the ensemble has gained appraisal in their numerous performances. The trio has won both the First and the Special Prizes of the 2007 International Chamber Music Competition in Candelo- Italy, 1st Prize and Special Prize of  International Chamber Music Compertition "Carlo Mosso" 2008 and Special Prize of "Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria". They were awarded the First and Audience Prizes in the Cavatina Chamber Music Competition in London , First prize in the Trinity Laban Chamber Music Competition and most recently won the Solti Foundation Award. These successes have led to a series of highly praised concerts in the UK and the Continent.

 

Violinist of the trio Lana Trotovsek is also an established soloist performing with many major orchestras . She performed as a soloist  in St.Martin In the Fields, St. John's Smith Square, Mozarteum Salzburg, Teatro la Fenice Venice, Wienna Koncerthaus… She was invited by legendary violinist Ruggiero Ricci to study with him in Salzburg Mozarteum.

      Cellist Stjepan Hauser, already known for his magical, unique, and charismatic performances, is one of the leading cellists today. Only in his very early twenties, he has already performed in the biggest venues in Europe. As soloist he has performed with many major orchestras in this country and abroad. He has impressed and worked with many famous artist such as Mstislav Rostropovich. His Wigmore Hall debut was a big success.

   The pianist Yoko Misumi is winner of many competitions and award performing in big venues including St. John Smith Square, St. Martin in the Fields, Wigmore Hall and Regent Hall.

 

The Greenwich Trio recieves regular coaching from Bernard Greenhouse and has recieved coaching  from Deniz Gelenbe, David Kenedy, Martino Tirimo and Rivka Golani. Besides, they have taken part in master classes with Bernard Greenhouse (Beaux Arts Trio), Ivry Gitlis,  Klaus Maetzl (Alban Berg Quartet), Wihan Quartet, Israel Piano Trio, The Schubert Ensemble of London, The Rosamunde Trio, The Arman Trio and with William Aide.

Highlits from the year 2008 included concert in St. Martin in the Fields and performance of the Triple Concerto with conductor Barry Wordsworth.

Barely two year after its formation, the ensemble aspires to be one of the most energetic, passionate and refined trios of the music world, and has already given performances that have taken audiences in Germany, Italy and the USA by storm.
